I am a firm believer that the present You should do something awesome now for the future You, and then the future You will thank the past You. Example: I bought honey for myself when I wasn’t sick and now I am and have it without having to go out. It makes me think of the past Me as thoughtful and generous. Have faith in the future You by having the present You do all you can to set up the future You with an easier time. Love all the Yous you got. One time I was really gone in a friend’s apartment in San Francisco (where I used to record music), listening to some records with some friends and we were all talking about some perfect scenario of how our lives would go. It was intricate and fun and had to do with music. I remember thinking YES- that’s exactly what I want and it’s not hard to get. The next day forgot EVERYTHING about the scenario! However, I still think about that night alot. And I still try to make that scenario, whatever it may be, to come true for us. And it sorta has.
